Jayden Stanley Commits to UC Davis
Interview by Troy Ewers
Troy Ewers: Hello Jayden, thank you for this quick interview, let's get right to it. What can you say about your Junior Year?
39 Tackles, 3 Interceptions, 1 Sack, and 1 Fumble Recovery returned for a TD (according to Maxpreps)
Jayden Stanley: You know all I can say is I am blessed, the hardwork and dedication definitely will pays off
Troy: In this weird Covid-19 Year, how are you staying focused? How are your routine/workouts different?
Jayden: Yessir absolutely, you know during these times I’ve been trying to stay in the best possible shape, making sure I stay on top of my academics and just remain focused. My workout schedule is definitely different but I just try to stay as consistent as possible in order to keep my focus on football and school.
Troy: Outside of Covid-19, how have you dealt with the constant changes around you the past two seasons? (Changing Schools/Losing Coach Papin/New Coach, Coach Saunders)
Jayden: You know just staying focused and positive after we lost Pap, there was a good amount of time where we went without a coach so you know us as players had to take things into our own hands until we got Coach Saunders who is our head coach now.
Troy: It definitely has paid off!!! You have received a handful of offers from schools, what were you looking for when it came to a Home to Commit to?
Jayden: Yessir definitely, you know I was looking for somewhere I can not only play ball for the next 3 to 4 years, but also somewhere I can get a great education and be set up for success in the long run.
Troy: I like that alot and word on the streets is your choice will be UC Davis.
Jayden: Yessir!!
Troy: Congrats
Jayden: Thank You, I appreciate it!
Troy: What do you think you can add to UC Davis?
Jayden: Coming in as a Free Safety, I can definitely add a good amount of speed/range and physicality to their secondary. I also believe I can add some form of leadership and discipline to the team as a whole.
Troy: That’s dope, I love that answer!
Jayden: Yessir absolutely, Thank You!
Troy: Last Question, How's your relationship with Troy Franklin and how has it made you a better player/helped your recruiting?
Jayden: My relationship with Troy goes back to the 8th grade when we played in the 1vizion game together he’s always been a good friend and when I transferred to MA he was there for me making sure I met everyone and you just made sure I was locked in, practicing with him everyday definitely made me a better player from technique to work ethic and just in general. In terms of recruiting he has definitely helped me a lo-t I remember when I first got to MA, I was desperate for offers and you know he just told me “stay patient, your time will come” so I listened to his words and next thing you know my recruitment started rising!
Troy: Thank you for answering these questions brother, I can’t wait for you to see this article. It'll be out this week!
