Interview w/ Troy Ewers

After a shortened season in which he balled out, Devyn Parker 21’ sits down again with OG alum Troy Ewers to talk what sparked such an explosive season.

Troy: Well let me start by saying since our last interview in 2019, a lot has happened in the world... How have you been doing the pandemic?

Devyn: There've been some ups and downs to be honest, like I wouldn’t of ever thought I would actually want to go back to school instead of being online because being there in-person school was definitely easier. On top of that I’ve definitely been able to work more on my skill and actually start lifting again.

T: You went to a couple of the PierrePierreProductions workouts last year but what were the other ways you kept working on developing your game?

D: I worked with Carr Training majority of the time he(Omari Carr) definitely got me right. If I wasn’t with him then me and my guys would always just get together and go to a field to put work in.

T: Well it definitely worked out!!! First game against Overfelt... 5 TDs????

D: Oh yeah I felt bad they had to play us! (Laughs) I came back with so much energy because I wasn’t able to play in the 19’ CCS Championship game.

T: When I heard about your game I threw my phone across the room because I had a feeling you were going to get busy, but you kept that energy up all season. What motivated you to go off like you this year?

D: It was my absence in my last 2 games last year, that made me want to come back harder and better than before.

T: Did you like the short season???

D: Definitely didn’t, wish we got to have more games. We only had 3 games.. The other two of them got canceled because of COVID.

T: What’s your goal for yourself this yext year?

D: My goal is definitely to get faster and stronger. Everyone is gonna be a lot better going into the next level.

3. Who inspires you to be the great player you are?

D:

1. Disjointed for sure it's a Netflix series.

2. Flash is my favorite hero cuz we both fast.

3. And my mom inspires me to be great because she does everything for my siblings and I. I want her to be able to relax and give her the world.
