Biggest Influences to you Musically?

Biggest non-artist influences would have to be my parents. Music has always been a mainstay in my life, and It was always on growing up. I appreciate the verity of music that was played for me as well. Classic rock, jazz, rap, alternative, classical to name a few. If it sounded good it was being played at home or in the car.

Artist-wise it would have to be Pharrell and Dillon Francis.

Pharrell will always be my favorite producer just because you see how many different artist he worked with and how he wasn’t afraid to break out of the hip-hop genre. I mean he made it cool for black people to skateboard *laughs*

Dillon Francis because he always preaches about individuality and believing in yourself.

His shows and music are all about being proud of yourself and representing your art no matter what.

Also we both have a very similar sense of humor.

2.How does the rush from making a crowd go crazy Dj’ing differ from Football rush?

It’s for sure more added pressure Dj'ing because it’s usually just you up there by yourself. Football being a team game you have a lot of opportunities to perform well with the help of everyone else. I can safely say that cleanly blending 2 songs together and having the whole venue sing while you cut out the audio so it’s just them singing is better than scoring a touchdown. In my opinion of course.

3.Your “Feeling Funky” Playlist is doing good numbers how’s that feel?

The success of Feelin Funky is just amazing. It was something a little different then what I normally do, but I wanted to try something different and it worked out for the better. I had people that didn’t even know me DMing me saying how much they loved it, I was really blown away. Im grateful to anyone who listens to anything I put out, but the response that I got from this mix in particular is truly incredible.

4.If you had the choice to stay solo or perform with Will as BeardBoyz which one do you prefer?

I will always love my brother Beardbandit and love performing with him. He actually might be a better DJ than me at the moment.

But just knowing myself I’d probably stay solo for the most part. That’s only because I just know how my mind works when it comes to creative stuff and sometimes I get frustrated when I don’t have complete control. Wouldn’t wanna put him through that. But we always have fun when we perform together so who knows.

5. If you can see 2 DJs actually have a spin off who would it be?

Probably A-trak and DJ Snake. There’s not a lot of battle Dj’s out there but A-Trak is easily one of the best.

6. Where do you see Music Evolving?

I see a lot more independent artists becoming bigger and bigger. You can see what platforms like SoundCloud can do for artists like xxxtentacion and Russ. I mean any kid with a MacBook can produce a hit and go viral. Creators are being being smarter about signing with a major label because of their creative restrictions. I see music becoming run by creative minds in the future.

7. Your mom is a huge supporter of you and your brother, what does that mean to you as a creative?

It means everything to me honestly. My mom hates sports so the love of music is the one thing that we’ve always shared. She has always been our #1 fan and her support and love means the world to us.

Wind it Up-Gwen Stefani (which is a Pharrell produced beat so gimmie a break), I Can’t Go For That-Hall and Oats, Dancing Queen- ABBA (no excuses for that one..), Home- Daughty, I’d Do Anything-Simple Plan

9.Lastly, do you ever feel the extra push to make it from our area which is mostly divided as creatives?

The biggest push I get is from people who are closed minded when it comes to music. I was blessed to listen to lots of different types of music growing up. It really pains me to hear the person who says, “I only listen to 90’s, music today sucks”

You’re cutting yourself off from potentially some amazing music. I guess I just wanna make everyone dance at the end of the day haha.
